ALUMINIUM TOWER WITH CANTILEVERED PLATFORM AT LRT 3 STATION

The LRT Shah Alam Line or LRT 3, previously known as the LRT Bandar Utama–Klang Line, LRT Bandar Utama-Johan Setia Line or simply LRT Johan Setia Line, is a medium-capacity light rapid transit line which will be serving the Shah Alam and Klang regions on the western side of the Klang Valley, Malaysia.

SASB was briefed to provide a few sets of Aluminium Cantilever Scaffold with 1.8m wide structure and circa 1.5m length cantilever platform for the installation of wall cladding panels.

The small space beside the track area means we need to design something sleek but sturdy to withstand the load of workers and tools. To achieve this, a Single Width (SW) Aluminium tower frame was used as a main scaffold structure at this narrow space.

Aluminium tower is advantageous for this purpose of installation since it is light and easy to handle and install as compared to conventional scaffold system. The saving in terms of labour cost is especially significant when the structure needs to be moved at different locations along the station. Loading capacity of the platform was designed to up to 200kg per square meter as per requirement in the EN1004 standard.
